Doc Ryan
Assitant Coach

Veteran coach Doc Ryan is in his fifth year with friend and colleague Steve Konchalski after having 
worked together on the Canadian National Team coaching staff for a dozen years... Doc brings 25 
years CIS Head Coaching experience to the X-Men, having coached the Dalhousie Tigers (men)
 for eight years and the StFX X-Women for 17 years... An outstanding player, he was an All-Canadian 
at UQTR (where he led the nation in scoring) and an Atlantic Conference All-Star at StFX , as well as 
being a member of the Canadian Olympic team in 1980... Doc holds two degrees from StFX (B.A and 
B. ED.), as well as an M.A. (Kinesiology) from Dalhousie... He is currently teaching at E. Pictou Middle 
School.
